      <image:caption>Fostering Movement Studio opened in April of 2016. The building of what has become the idea of the studio began to form many years ago. Each training and certification we have earned has built the studio to what it is today. There have been a few principles that create the basis of how we look at helping people move better. They are as follows: Remove the over compensating muscle patterns causing incorrect pattering with massage, breathing. Restore better flexibility with Pilates and breathing. Restore better biomechanics with alignment and core connection through visualization, pilates and weight training. Rebuild strength with optimal alignment and core connection through pilates and weight training. Rebuild endurance through Pilates and weight training. The approach to each of these can be different as each person is different. Each person brings a history of movement with them that must be seen by the instructor to help move forward.       <image:caption>Tobias Keene, D.D.S. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Instructors - Jen Lande</image:title>
      <image:caption>Instructor Jen Lande began studying dance at a young age, and continued her dance training at The University of Utah. While growing up, Jen often took master classes from guest artistic directors like Chicago choreographers, the late Gus Giordano, Meribeth Kisner, and Randy Duncan. Through the influence of these experiences, Jen decided to move to Chicago, to pursue a performing career. While a part of the vibrant Chicago dance community, Jen worked with a host of wonderful teachers, directors, choreographers and dancers, including Tim Foster. A dancer’s career can be fleeting, and for Jen, there were times of struggle with injuries. It was suggested by Jen’s massage therapist, to build more strength and balance in her body to prevent injury, and to “try” Pilates. Try indeed! Pilates became Jen’s passion, and Jen became certified in Pilates through Michele Larrson and Core Dynamics in 2001. Jen also completed her certification in gyrokinesis in 2004. In 2009 and in 2010, Jen became a certified Balanced Body Master Instructor. Jen facilitates teacher trainings, teaching Pilates instructors in The Mat, Reformer and Apparatus equipment. In 2018, Jen completed a Pilates for Neurological Conditions Course, with focus on Pilates for MS and Parkinsons. Incorporating Jen’s passion for teaching movement and Pilates, Jen loves connecting with people, and helping them to build more strength and balance in their bodies.</image:caption>
